How Long Do I Have To Complete The Course?

Georgia is actually one of the few states with no formal requirements for home inspection training. Still, realtors, buyers, and sellers will typically only hire home inspectors with the education and training to back up their work. AHIT’s Professional Home Inspector course is the industry’s most comprehensive training available. The course contains the 14 key components of a home inspection plus business and marketing information you need to launch your home inspector career. You will learn the entire home inspection process, plus introductions to specialized services including radon, wood destroying organisms, pools, and spas.
Remote and hybrid learning
The average fee for a home inspection in Georgia is $370. The amount you charge for a home inspection will vary based on age and square footage of the home. We cover that all during the online home inspection course.
You will learn how to inspect and report on heating and cooling systems, plumbing and electrical systems, roof and siding, the foundation, and other major components of a home. Private career colleges are accepted as equivalent to community colleges subject to applicable policy, but students may be required to take final competency exam. Included with the online home inspection course are mold and radon introductory bonus courses. We also offer additional mold and radon certification courses.
Program graduates meet the core education requirements of the OAHI’s Registered Home Inspector designation. However, each course must be completed with a minimum grade of B- (70%) to be eligible for OAHI acceptance. New students who enroll in a home inspection training course with ICA receive a one-year membership for included with the course at no cost to you. There are no specific prerequisites for this course, but having some working knowledge of residential construction and appraisals is beneficial.
There is no home inspection board in Georgia, so we physically mail your certificate and wallet-sized certification card to you upon completing the course. These will both have your own unique home inspection certification number which is issued by the school. We provide resources that will help get your business up and running. Some community colleges offer an enhanced home inspection program. In fact, the majority of our graduates will start their own successful home inspection business after completing our course. We also train you on the whole marketing and business start-up side of things. Georgia is one of the states that still have not adopted licensing requirements for home inspectors. That said, real estate agents and your clients still need to see that you are certified as a home inspector. The home inspection programs offered by the following education providers are currently accepted by the OAHI and are considered to fulfill requirements.
